Hi, I'm Deanna Daniels.

I am a natural-light, documentary-style photographer based in Alberta Canada, I am also certified birth doula, educator, and freelance writer. In my daily, I'm a home-educator to three busy boys, a wife to a paramedic, and a forever nature enthusiast. My business name comes from the latin phrase "dum spiro spero" or "as I breathe, I hope".

I currently offer sessions for portraits, maternity, and newborn (a blend of traditional posed and gentle documentary style). I also offer 'Day In the Life' documentary family sessions and I love to engage in your creative projects.

This website blends birth and photography. I am committed to respectful and compassionate childbirth and have served in this capacity for more than eight years. I believe humans experience health and healing with informed birth support AND as they process their experience through photos. To this end, I offer birth doula services within Kneehill and deliver images that invoke emotion, authenticity, and growth. (NOTE: Birth services are currently on hold due to Alberta's current Covid restrictions. Non-birth photography services are active!)
